In 2011, we launched the Polychrome boutique, a vintage flea market in the center of Strasbourg.

It was at the boutique that we noticed a strong demand for modular candleholders from the 70’s, from Nagel or BMF, as well as compatible candles.
The candle question has always been a delicate one. Indeed, the rare vintage-compatible candles have suffered over the last 40 years, and are often damaged or unusable (we advise you not to use them!), and the supply of new compatible candles is… non-existent!

That’s why we looked for a supplier who could provide us with quality new candles:

perfectly compatible with Nagel and BMF candle holders

          aesthetically similar to vintage candles

          in a variety of colors

and, of course, comply with European standards and satisfy safety tests.

We hope to bring your favourite candleholders back to life!

About us

A small Strasbourg-based company founded by Hugo Payet, Des Bougies pour Nagel has been the specialist in vintage modular candleholders since 2013.

At the time, Nagel and BMF tripod candleholders were somewhat forgotten and it was simply impossible to find compatible candles, as their dimensions were very specific.
