Description

Six Bees candles in red, made of pure beeswax and hand-poured in our Strasbourg workshop. The UV-bleached wax is tinted with a tiny amount of dye. Their bevelled base fits Nagel, STOFF, BMF Combi-Leuchter, Quist and Hammonia Motard modular candle holders.

  • Made in France, in our Strasbourg workshop
  • Kind to the environment: wax from the hive, simply filtered, with no chemical treatment
  • Healthy for your home: clean, complete burning, with no smoke or dripping

Why beeswax?

Beeswax gives a bright, steady flame, with no smoke or dripping, and naturally releases a soft scent of honey. A product of the hive, it supports beekeeping. To make candles, simple filtering removes the impurities: no chemical treatment, no additives, and it burns without releasing toxic substances.

Its only drawback is its price: about six times more expensive than paraffin, which comes from petroleum, and two to three times more than plant waxes.

How are they made?

Our purified beeswax comes from a supplier less than 80 km from the workshop. It arrives as small flakes, which we melt in a bain-marie. We centre a cotton wick in each mould, then pour in the wax. Once cooled, the candles are unmoulded, their wicks trimmed and their bases bevelled to fit your candle holders perfectly.

Two natural phenomena

A white film on the surface: this is called bloom, wax compounds rising to the surface and crystallising. Wipe the candle with a lint-free cloth and it regains all its shine.

A drop when lighting: it only runs a few centimetres and the flame quickly absorbs it. As a rule, it is the only drip you will see!

How to use them

Indoors, away from draughts, sunlight and heat sources, and never unattended. Put the candle out before it has burnt down completely: it will come out of the candle holder easily. All our tips for use
